Tennis Betting

Here at TennisForesight, and indeed all the Foresight sites, we have a passion for predicting the outcome of sporting events. Though these predictions are used by our readers for many different reasons the top reason has to be sports betting.

Tennis betting is enjoying growth throughout the world at the moment, and with good reason, it is one of the most exciting sports to bet on, especially now that betting exchanges such as Betfair offer in play betting.

If you are new to betting then we would strongly suggest that you paper trade first, that is, put imaginary bets on paper and see how you get on. While you are trying to establish a system this is a very important step. Remember long term profits should be the goal of any betting campaign.

There are a number of different ways to bet on the Tennis markets we have listed our favourites below -

1. Betting on the winner. This is the simplest and most popular option. Simply pick the winner of the match and put your bet on. If you are correct then you get paid out at the odds the bet was placed on.

2. Handicap betting. This is similar to betting on the match, however the best player will have a handicap of games and therefore will be starting behind the weaker player. This should make the game evenly matched between the players. There can be less risk betting this way, but also lower odds.

3. Set betting. There are two main forms of set betting. The first is betting on a single set. This has been a very exciting way to bet in play when watching the game, and if you know a particular players weaknesses it can really pay off.

The other form of set betting is to bet on total sets won by a player.

4. Tournament betting. This is simply betting on the outright winner of a tournament. This can be a great option for trading, if that is your thing.

There are all sorts of other options available depending on the market. Keep your eye on odds and value though, you might be pleased to hear that we will be going into more details about that in future articles.
